#02 What hiking the largest canyon in Africa can teach us about business.

The Fish River Canyon, the largest in Africa and the second-largest in the world (second to the Grand Canyon in the US), stretches over 100 miles. It is a tough 5 or 6-day hike and is bound to push anyone brave enough to take her on, to their limits. Both physically and mentally.
Mandi has completed two of these hikes successfully and shares her experience as well as the lessons she has learned about herself and her business, in this episode.

how we are always capable of more than we give ourselves credit for
the road to success and achieving our goals is never a straight line
why your big vision can hold you back and what to focus on instead
what to do when things get tough and you feel like giving up
why you need to commit to the goal but detach from the outcome
the war of "failing" or "succeeding" in life and business is often lost and won in our minds.
There is a lot to learn from experiences that push us to our limits and starting your own business is no different! Quitting just because you are tired and afraid will, in the long run, cost you more. The more you push yourself through the moments you feel you want to give up, the more confidence you will gain in your ability to do hard things.
Lightbulb moment: Life and business will at times push you to your limits. The key is to remember why you started in the first place, to know where you're going and to take it ONE STEP AT A TIME.
